Goreswine the Ravager is the 6th boss of Act 1 in V Rising, whom the player has to defeat after triumphing over Grayson the Armourer. Like Alpha Wolf, this boss is a “wanderer” and doesn’t have a specific respawn point. You must select the boss through the “V Blood” panel (K) and press track blood.
Goreswine the Ravager dwells in the southern part of the Farbane Woods and travels between the graveyards, accompanied by four skeleton minions.
For beginners who have not yet mastered the key mechanics of the game, the boss may seem challenging. In this brief guide, I’ll teach you a simple strategy that will allow you to easily defeat Goreswine the Ravager in V Rising.
Step №1: Familiarize Yourself with the Boss’s Skills
Goreswine the Ravager is armed with a magical staff and attacks the hero with long-range attacks. The names of the skills I provide are not official and were invented by me for the convenience of presenting information.
- “Poisonous Explosion” – After a lengthy preparation, the boss detonates the area under the character’s feet, inflicting damage. A toxic zone forms in the exploded area. If the character stays in such a zone, they will be slowed and begin to take periodic poison damage.
- “Green Skull” – After a short preparation, the boss launches a magical “green skull” at the player. This spell deals damage on impact and applies a slowing effect to the hero. It’s hard to dodge the “green skull” at short range.
- “Teleport” – The boss detonates three circular areas right under his feet (areas explode the same way as in “Poisonous Explosion“), then teleports about 5-7 meters in front of him. This skill has a medium-length preparation and allows the boss to avoid your character’s melee attacks.
- “Poisonous Artillery” – The boss shields himself with a special shield, becoming immune to any attacks from your hero. After that, he detonates (in the same way as the “Poisonous Explosion” works) several circular areas around himself three times. You should immediately run away from this skill, as after its application almost all the ground around the boss in quite a large radius will be covered with poisonous puddles.
Step №2: Preparation for the Battle
Preparation is the most important stage. Here’s what you should do to defeat the boss.

Craft a Merciless Copper Crossbow and a Merciless Nightstalker armor set. The books to unlock the crafting recipes for this equipment can be bought at the Shady Merchant Camp location for Copper Coins, which drop from human enemies.
If the required books are not available for sale, wait until the merchant’s goods are refreshed.
The crossbow is the best weapon for defeating Goreswine the Ravager, as in melee combat he will constantly hit your character with the “Green Skull” and evade attacks with “Teleport“, not to mention that you will have to move through poisonous puddles, taking periodic damage. -
Buy and use the Brew of Ferocity to get +4 to Physical Power for 30 minutes. This potion is also sold by the merchant at the Shady Merchant Camp in the eastern part of Farbane Woods.

Equip the Shadowbolt and Aftershok spells. With their help, you can quickly deal damage to the boss at range.

Feed your character high-quality “Warrior” blood. This blood will increase the physical attack of your vampire and reduce the cooldown of weapon skills.

Create a few Vermin Salves to have the ability to restore health in battle, in case something does not go as planned.
Step №3: Defeat the Boss Using the Crossbow and Spells
The strategy of fighting Goreswine the Ravager is extremely simple: you must damage him with the Shadowbolt and Aftershok spells, as well as the “Rain of Bolts” skill of your crossbow. Try not to get too close to the boss, otherwise, he will constantly hit you with his “Green Skull” skill. Don’t step on the poisonous puddles that form after “poisonous explosions“.
When you take away 50% of the boss’s health, he will drop 3 Health Orbs (picking them up, you can restore some health) and start using the ultimate skill “Poisonous Artillery“. As soon as the boss starts using this skill, you should run away from him a short distance. When the boss finishes using “Poisonous Artillery“, he will follow you, and you can continue the fight.
In general, defeating Goreswine the Ravager will not be difficult. The main thing is not to engage in close combat, but patiently “pick at” him using your crossbow and spells.
