Memetic Specializations unlock new opportunities or upgrade existing gameplay aspects for the player. Through memetics, you can unlock formulas for unique facilities, improve the effectiveness of your generators, increase the durability of the structures in your territory, and gain other advantages.
How Memetic Specializations Work
Memetic Specializations (or perks) are available in the Memetics Cradle → Memetics → Memetics Specialization section. The player can have up to 10 specializations at the same time, so you should choose them wisely.
Every 5 levels, you unlock a new slot for memetics specialization:
- Slot #1 – Level 5,
- Slot #2 – Level 10,
- Slot #3 – Level 15,
- Slot #4 – Level 20,
- Slot #5 – Level 25,
- Slot #6 – Level 30,
- Slot #7 – Level 35,
- Slot #8 – Level 40,
- Slot #9 – Level 45,
- Slot #10 – Level 50.
The specializations themselves are linked to slots of certain levels. Every time you unlock a new slot, you get 4 random specializations from the pool of those available for that specific slot, but you can only choose one of them. One of those specializations is always common (green), one rare (blue), one epic (purple), and one legendary (orange).
Memory Fragments
A Memory Fragment is an item that contains a certain Memetic Specialization. You can use this item 3 times per scenario (season) to replace your unlocked specializations. The slots in which a Memetic Specialization can be replaced are always specified in the description of each Memory Fragment.
- Go to Memetics Cradle → Memetics → Memetic Specialization → Specialization Memory Fragment.
- Select any Memory Fragment available (they must be in your inventory, not in storage) and press “F” to use it.
- Select one of the suggested slots and press “Apply Memory Fragment”.
The Memetic Specialization in the selected slot will be replaced with the specialization from the Memory Fragment. The fragment itself will disappear.
You can obtain Memory Fragments randomly when completing Securement Silos and Monoliths, or buy them from other players through their Vending Machines.
How to Reset Memetic Specializations
You can only reset 1 Memetic Specialization at a time. To do this, you must have a Specialization Cleaner, which can be obtained by completing Scenario Challenges. For example, in the Manibus scenario, you can obtain up to 8 Specialization Cleaners per season.
With a cleaner, select any unlocked Memetic Specialization and press “Reset”. After this, you will get 4 new random specializations available for that specific slot and will be able to choose one of them. However, if none of them fit your expectations, you can still keep the original one. A Specialization Cleaner will be spent in any case.
How to Check the List of All Available Specializations
There is a simple trick that allows you to check all the Memetic Specializations available for the current scenario right in the game. The thing is, every specialization has its own Memory Fragment, so we can see the list of them using a Vending Machine.
- Place a Vending Machine in your territory and press “Trade Items”.
- Select any item from the list and choose “Item Exchange” in the “Currency” field.
- You will get a list of all exchangeable items. Scroll down until you reach Memory Fragments.
How to Get the Desired Memetic Specialization
Every Memory Fragment can only be applied to specific slots. For example, the “Art of Stardust Decay Memory Fragment” can only be applied to slots of Level 40, 45, and 50. This means that the “Art of Stardust Decay” specialization itself is linked to these slots and cannot appear in others.
Knowing this, you can determine which slots you must replace using Specialization Cleaners to have a chance at getting the desired Memetic Specialization. For example, if you want the “Large Refinery Facility” specialization, you must replace specializations in slots of Level 5, 10, and 15, because it is linked to these slots and will not appear in any others.

The List of All Memetic Specializations
I’ve created a list of all the Memetic Specializations available in the game by slot level. The best Memetic Specializations, according to my experience, are marked in the table.
Note: The Memetic Specializations listed in the table belong to different scenarios. For example, everything relevant to environmental temperature most likely belongs to the Way of Winter scenario.
