Sulfur Chemist is a crafting Memetic Specialization that may appear in slots 4, 5, 6, or 7 (level 20/25/30/35). This specialization unlocks a new formula that allows you to produce Acid on a Small Synthesis Bench or Large Synthesis Bench by spending Sulfur and Energy Links.
Acid Formula (Sulfur Chemist)
To produce 1 unit of Acid, you will need:
- 5 Sulfur
- 100 Energy Links
- 8 minutes of real time
Acid Production Math
The difference between Small and Large Synthesis Benches is that the large one allows you to produce 2 items at the same time, and thus doubles the production speed.
At the moment, you can only place 20 crafting facilities in your territory, so in the calculations we will only use a realistic number — 15.

( 60 / 8 ) minutes = 225 Acid / hour
This means that having 15 Large Synthesis Benches, you are able to produce up to 225 Acid per hour (225 * 24 = 5400 Acid per day). For this, you will need:
- 225 Acid * 5 Sulfur = 1125 Sulfur / hour (27k / day)
- 225 Acid * 100 Energy Links = 22,500 Energy Links / hour (540k / day)
- 15 Large Synthesis Benches * 10 W = 150 W of power
Is Sulfur Chemist Worth It?
In the current patch (after the update in March 2025), definitely NO. There are several reasons for this.
- The Sulfur Chemist specialization doesn’t offer anything unique. You can produce Acid on your own in contaminated areas without it.
- Acid production with Sulfur Chemist requires too many Energy Links. It’s much easier to just buy Acid from players’ Vending Machines at the Harvesters’ Market.
- Even if you can’t or don’t want to buy Acid from players, you can still easily farm it by killing mobs in specific locations — for example, in the Blackfell Fallen Zone.
- In addition to Energy Links, the formula requires quite a lot of Sulfur, so you will have to grind it.
In fact, you are not producing Acid with the Sulfur Chemist specialization, but rather buying it at twice the price, so it’s better to choose one of the alternative ways of Acid production.
