A Stardust Water Pump can only be built if you have the “Stardust Water Pump” Memetics Specialization. Since specializations are random, it might be difficult to unlock this facility.
Pay attention to the fact that you can reset Memetics Specializations a few times during the season by using a Memetics Cleanser. This item can be obtained by completing Season Goals.
How to Build
If you have the “Stardust Water Pump” Memetics perk, you will be able to build this pump via the building menu. Place it only inside the contaminated area; otherwise, it will not work. You can find a contaminated area in any Once Human scenario using an interactive map via the provided link. Type into the search field “contaminated area” or “stardust ore.”
The pump requires 10 Watts of power.
How It Works
When a Stardust Water Pump is placed in a contaminated (polluted) area, it will produce Stardust Source. For this, the pump consumes Storage Batteries, which can be crafted at an Intermediate or Advanced Supplies Workbench.
Every single Storage Battery you put into a Stardust Water Pump will generate 80 Stardust Source for 5 minutes of real time. After this, the battery will disappear. In essence, this “production” process converts 1 Storage Battery into 80 Stardust Source.
Crafting 1 Battery requires 15 Steel Ingots, 20 Rubber, 20 Acid, and 10 Electronic Parts. Since Rubber and Electronic Parts are not easy to acquire, this exchange can hardly be considered fair. After all, Stardust Source is relatively easy to obtain in Securement Silos.
