Cubic Odyssey: How to Level Up Fast

In Cubic Odyssey, your character has a level. The higher it is, the more useful crafts you unlock. For example, upon reaching level 16, you will be able to craft an Energy Station that allows you to recharge your active Gear Power Cell for free (it has a cooldown time, though). For this reason, leveling up is very important, and in this guide, I will tell you how you can increase the level of your character in a short time.

Completing Side Quests

Completing quests is not only a perfect way to earn Qbits fast, but also a good opportunity to level up your character. You can receive side quests from NPCs in any settlements on peaceful planets (like “Bardwell 2”). Here are the easiest and the most profitable side missions that you can take.

“A Large Predator is Attacking Our People”

This mission will lead you to a small source of darkness, and there are two ways to complete it. If, at the marked location, you find a mob marked with the quest icon, you can just kill it and the job’s done. In this case, you get a normal reward (e.g., ~2k Qbits and ~200 XP in systems of level 10–16).

But instead of a mob, you might find a small spot corrupted by Red Darkness, and then you will have to use a Darkness Purifier to remove it from the voxels around the small source, which is marked with the quest icon. You can even see visually how the source feeds on the energy of surrounding corrupted voxels. Usually, purification takes about 2-3 minutes.

Note that this small darkness source periodically spawns darkness mobs that will attack you. That is why it’s much easier to complete this mission on “water planets”: the mobs can’t swim, so they will just stand on the bottom or jump on the surface.

After you remove the darkness from the voxels around, the source of darkness will disappear, and you will get double the reward (e.g., ~4k Qbits and ~400 XP in systems of level 10–16).

“A Group of Pirates is Constantly Attacking Us”

This quest is very easy. All you need to do is just reach the destination point and kill several pirate mobs. The safest way to do it is to use a sniper rifle. I recommend doing this mission on “water planets”, same as the previous one, because the pirate mobs swim very slowly, which makes them an easy target in water.

Upon killing all the mobs at the marked location, you will get the reward (e.g., ~2k Qbits and ~200 XP in systems of level 10–16).

“We Have Reports of a Dark Creature Crawling Around”

An NPC will mark a location for you on the map. There, you will find a small spot corrupted with the Red Darkness, and some Dark Creature (a darkness mob) nearby. Sometimes the mob is small, sometimes it’s big, so make sure you have a good weapon.

All you need to do is kill this mob, and you will instantly get the reward (e.g., ~2k Qbits and ~200 XP in systems of level 10–16). This mission is also very easy to do on “water planets”.

Killing Mobs

Grinding mobs is the easiest way to level up fast in Cubic Odyssey at the moment. First, you should find a planet with a high level of Danger. You can check it on a system map: the more “white skulls” you see, the better. For example, the “Colluci 2” planet has a Danger level of 5 (5 skulls), which is perfect for farming XP.

After this, you can fly above the surface, find groups of mobs, and kill them with your guns. You don’t even need to leave your spaceship for this.

On the other hand, you can use your speeder to grind mobs even faster because it allows you to shoot while driving. In this case, it’s better to have an automatic weapon.

The amount of XP you will receive is impressive. For example, for killing a single mob in systems of level 13-16, you will get 100-200 XP, which means thousands of XP in minutes. It is better to choose planets with a more or less flat surface (plains or deserts) for XP farming because this way it’s much easier to travel on a speeder and find mobs around.
