Weapons in Cubic Odyssey are divided into tiers from T1 to T7. Also, powerful ancient weapons can be crafted on the Purification Bench in any activated temple (e.g., the starting one on the “Bardwell 2” planet). Any weapon can be upgraded with mods on the Modding Bench. In this guide, I will explain everything you need to know about weapons.
Weapon Tiers and Types
In the current patch, there are 2 types of weapons in the game: ranged (including explosives) and melee. Ranged weapons are also divided into several types: Pistols, Assault Rifles, Sniper / Marksman Rifles, SMGs, Shotguns, Machineguns, Grenade Launchers, and Rocket Launchers. Also, weapons have tiers from T1 (green) to T7 (turquoise, shining). The higher the tier, the higher the weapon damage and better general stats.
Ammo
Most weapons in the game don’t require any ammo, consuming power from the active Gear Fuel Cell instead. Grenade and Rocket Launchers, though, require grenades. There are 2 types of grenades:
- Explosive Grenades (Armory Bench) – deal damage in a large radius around the explosion;
- Light Grenades (Purification Bench) – destroy darkness blocks in a 30m radius.
Note that crafting light grenades is very expensive because they require Light Shards and Gem Plates.
Weapon List (Regular)
The list only contains weapons of T7 quality (exceptions are explosives). Ancient weapons are different from common ones and have other names, yet their types are the same: assault rifles, sniper rifles, etc.

How to Get Weapons
There are several ways to get weapons in Cubic Odyssey.
- Craft. Any common weapon can be crafted on an Armory Bench, and any ancient weapon can be crafted on a Purification Bench in any activated temple. To unlock crafting weapons of a higher tier, you must first craft a weapon of the previous tier.
- Purchase. Any weapon, including ancient ones, can be bought from merchants. They appear in the list of goods for sale randomly, and the quality depends on the level of the system (for Space Stations) or the planet (for Settlements).
- Find in chests. Almost every planet in the game has various structures on its surface. Inside those structures (whether they are peaceful or not), you can usually find one or several chests that contain valuable items according to the planet’s level. Some chests can be opened for free, and some of them require Access Cards, but any of them might contain weapons, equipment, and other useful stuff.
- Loot from enemies. When you kill a pirate mob, it might drop a weapon which it was holding in its hands. The quality of the weapon depends on the level of the mob.
- Corrupted weapon purification. Corrupted weapons can be obtained by killing corrupted humanoid-type mobs. You can purify corrupted weapons in any activated temple, which will turn them into random normal weapons.
How to Upgrade Weapons
Any weapon in the game can be upgraded using mods, which you can find in chests in the open world or buy from merchants on Space Stations and in Settlements on planets.
For this, there is a Modding Bench in the game. Note that you can only insert up to 4 mods into any weapon, and they cannot be replaced. You can always extract one of the mods, though, but it will lead to losing the weapon itself. The best weapon mods in the game are “Damage Bonus” and “Darkness Banisher”. Darkness Banisher mod increases the damage the weapon deals to darkness enemies and also allows you to clear darkness blocks by shooting at them. You will have to shoot quite a lot of times in order to clear a single darkness block.
Best Weapons
Among common weapons I tested, I would like to draw your attention to the following ones:
- Assault Rifle SMA15E. This gun has a relatively low fire rate, but it is quite precise and has high single-shot damage. Usually, I use it by default because it’s effective both at close range and at a distance.
- Marksman Rifle STR80XL. This sniper rifle has high accuracy and a good fire rate, so it feels comfortable when shooting.
I also remind you that there is a Creative Mode in the game where you can test almost any weapon in the game for free (except ancient weapons).
