Strongholds on Aurich Island differ from those in other regions. There are a total of 2 strongholds on the island: Sunken Dolan Town and Infested Sewage Treatment Plant. The process of completing them is quite similar but may pose challenges for beginners. That’s why I decided to publish this brief guide with detailed instructions.
How to Complete Infested Sewage Treatment Plant
Upon starting the mission, you appear in a small section separated from the main location. In the supply crate, you’ll find a Flame Axe, 1 Emergency Bandage, and 1 Worn Ammo Crate.
In the main area, your task is to destroy eggs scattered throughout the location and any mobs that stand in your way. However, it’s not where you should start.
Pay attention to the mini-map. Supply crates are marked with green icons. In addition to medications, you can find a bow + 30 arrows, a flamethrower, a shotgun, and a Molotov cocktail in them. I recommend looking for a flamethrower or shotgun first and then proceed to clear the area.
The weapons you find in the crates need to be loaded using the Worn Ammo Crate, as you normally do in the game.
You are given 30 minutes to complete the mission, but you actually have much less time. The “Reason” gauge will gradually decrease, and when it runs out, the mission will fail. You must complete the clearance before that happens.
You can replenish the “Reason” gauge with Mental Stabilizers found in red medical crates. Note that there are only a few of these crates, and finding them can be challenging.
Once you find the flamethrower or shotgun, start eliminating any mobs and eggs in your path until you fill the progress bar to 100%.
The central building also houses the Ant Queen, which is relatively easy to kill. You can reach her by descending from the roof using the Safety Rope, as shown in the screenshot.
Once the progress bar reaches 100%, climb to the top of the central building and call the helicopter. After that, the mission will be considered complete.
Tips
- Avoid walking through the swamp. Your character’s movement speed will be slowed, and health will gradually decrease.
- Avoid the black smoke. It also damages your character.
How to Complete Sunken Dolan Town
Completing Sunken Dolan Town looks almost the same as Infested Sewage Treatment Plant. The only difference is that in this stronghold, instead of ants and scorpions, there will be zombies, and instead of destroying eggs, you must Gather Data from Black Current Data Collection Devices.
Black Current Data Collection Devices look like antennas. They are mostly located on rooftops but can also be found on the ground. In the western part of the location, there is a mini-boss whose destruction will also help fill your progress bar.
My strategy for completing this location is as follows. First, I survey the buildings on the left, where I always find a bow and arrows. Then, I climb to the farthest building on the left and start searching for Black Current Data Collection Devices, moving from roof to roof counterclockwise. My route is shown in the screenshot.
Along the way, I search crates (they are displayed on the mini-map) to find better weapons or a Molotov cocktail. After that, I descend and go to kill the boss if the progress bar has not yet reached 100%.
In the end, you need to climb to the highest building and call the helicopter. This will be a successful completion of the mission.

Tips
- The location can be flooded with black liquid. You won’t be able to swim or move on foot normally in it. Also, being in it will reduce your character’s health.
- Avoid black smoke. It also causes damage.
- Use stealth kills. You can sneak up behind a zombie and break its neck without taking any damage.

The key to an easy, fast, and successful completion of Sunken Dolan Town and Infested Sewage Treatment Plant is knowledge of the locations and the locations of crates with supplies in them. So, if you didn’t succeed the first time, don’t worry. Just relax, run around for 10 minutes, explore the area. After that, you will easily complete both strongholds at any difficulty level.
