Negative stability in a kingdom leads to rebellion. A stable kingdom can be built with complex development. There are several factors that affect stability. Let’s consider them.
Food
If there is not enough food in the kingdom, the effect of “Hunger” will decrease its stability.
You can prevent this by building infrastructure that produces food. In addition, armies can be reduced in peacetime.
You can also import food from foreign kingdoms using merchants. They will offer you such deals from time to time.
Crown Authority
You should always keep crown authority at the highest level. If you don’t, this negatively affects the stability of the kingdom.
Crown authority can be increased with gold and religion points. If you capture a rebel marshal, his execution will increase crown authority, too. To keep crown authority, try not to commit dishonest acts. For example, if you declare war on your vassal, crown authority will significantly dwindle.

High peasantry opinion means a small increase in stability. To improve the opinion of the peasants, you should develop the kingdom’s security. You can also assign the “Improve Opinions” task to a diplomat. From time to time, peasantry opinion will growth.
Spies
When you have active spies, the kingdom’s stability will be slightly increased. The amount of increase varies according to which kingdoms the spies are in.
Kingdom Happiness
Kingdom happiness can be improved by building corresponding infrastructure, such as a food market, a cathedral, and so on.
Espionage Defense
The corresponding traditions and abilities of spies can be used to strengthen the espionage defense. This will not give significant growth in stability but shouldn’t be ignored as well as other factors.
If you use all of these mechanics, the stability of your kingdom will always be high. This will prevent the emergence of rebels and allow you to gain the loyalty of new cities much faster.
