Wood, Stone and Scrap Metal are basic resources in Surroundead. Almost all craft recipes require at least one of them, ranging from campfires to fences. In this quick rundown, I will show you how to get scrap metal, stone, and wood in the game. You will need appropriate tools in order to gather the resources. So I will show you where you can find them and what they look like.
How to get scrap metal (Sledge Hammer)
Scrap metal can be found in chests in the open world.
But the main source of scrap metal is burned cars. You will need a Sledge Hammer in order to gather this resource. A sledge hammer can be found in the various chests in the open world. It is not a rare item, so you will find it pretty fast by raiding big buildings.
Scrap metal cannot be gathered from every car. You need to find a special type of destroyed car that looks completely dark brown. Then you must equip a Sledge Hammer and hit the vehicle with it. Scrap metal will be breaking off, and you will be able to pick up its parts from the ground.
Each such car can provide a limited amount of scrap metal. When the available resource runs out, you will see the message “No More Scrap Metal“.
How to get stone (Pickaxe)
Stone in Surroundead can also be found in the open world’s various storages.
In order to gather stone from stone deposits, you will need a pickaxe. This tool can also be found throughout the open world or bought from traders in the safe zones.
Then you must find a big rock in the world, which is quite difficult to confuse with something else. Just equip a pickaxe and hit the rock. Stones will break off and fall to the ground.
Such stone deposits are also limited, so when the resource runs out, the rock will disappear.
How to get wood (Axes)
As well as stone and scrap metal, wood can be found in almost any chest in the open world. But you can also gather wood by cutting down trees. You will need axes to do this. And, as you may have guessed, axes are found in the various chests in the open world. There are a few types of them, but it doesn’t matter which one you use.
Equip an axe, go to any tree, and hit it. Each tree that is cut down will provide you with approximately 6 pieces of wood.
How to buy tools and resources from merchants
There are a few merchants and a few safe zones on the map. In order to use the map, you must find a GPS and equip it in the corresponding slot.
Then you will be able to use the map to easily find traders’ camps and safe zones. There is only one trader in the trader’s camps, but there are as many as three in the safe zones. Check their goods from time to time.
Traders in Surroundead often sell not only ammo and consumables, but also tools (sledge hammers, pickaxes, and axes) and various resources.
Raid for money to accumulate enough to buy whatever you need.
