Undawn Explosive Gas Guide: Where to Find All 12 Tanks

Explosive Gas in Undawn is a special item that can only be found in the Golden Desert. By collecting 12 Explosive Gas canisters, you will be able to unlock the Junkyard settlement. The challenge is that 4 out of the 12 Explosive Gas canisters are buried in specific locations, and you are unlikely to find them without knowing about them.

There is already a video published on the ZEROO LDOE channel on YouTube, showing all the places where you can find or dig up Explosive Gas. I have decided to provide a textual repost of this publication to facilitate navigation with the addition of timestamps.

Explosive Gas in the open world (8 locations)

1. 00:28 – North of Ixis Research Center. The Explosive Gas canister is located in a locked room inside a building. You can pick the lock using Lockpicks.
   
2. 01:17 – West of Mojave Prison, on top of the gas station roof.
   
3. 01:45 – North of Ixis Research Center. On the edge of the rooftop wreckage.
   
4. 03:32 – East of Fentar. At the bottom of the lake in the oasis.
   
5. 03:59 – In the Junkyard settlement. The Explosive Gas canister is prominently placed near NPC Dawn Miller.
   
6. 04:14 – South of Ixis Research Center. The canister is located next to one of the crashed cars near the gas station.
   
7. 04:31 – South of the Junkyard settlement. The canister is in the garage on the right side of the refueling station.
   
8. 04:46 – East of Mojave Prison, near a tower. The Explosive Gas canister is in a locked room. You can pick the lock using Lockpicks.
   

Buried Explosive Gas (4 locations)

You won’t need any special equipment to dig these up. Just find a pile of sand and interact with it by pressing “F.”

1. 00:00 – Near Sandheart RV Park. Dig up the Sand Heap near the wooden steps.
   
2. 02:44 – Near Golden Track. The Sand Heap is a few meters away from the local NPC next to a green jeep.
   
3. 03:10 – South of the Junkyard settlement, there’s a crashed airplane. The Sand Heap is right on its right wing.
   
4. 05:04 – Hidal Camp. You can find the Sand Heap near an abandoned armored vehicle, partially buried in the sand.
   

Once you have collected all 12 Explosive Gas canisters, talk to NPC Dawn Miller in Junkyard to unlock this settlement.
