Undawn Farming Guide: Everything You Need to Know

In my Undawn cooking guide, I explained the importance of learning to cook dishes with various bonuses. Farming in Undawn serves as the main source of ingredients for these dishes. In this short guide, I will teach you how to plant seeds, water and fertilize your garden, as well as harvest your crops.

How to obtain and expand your farmland

Every player has a plot of farmland. However, initially, players have access to only a few plots for planting crops, and the rest can be unlocked gradually as the Homestead level increases.

To increase your Homestead level, you need to go to the game’s main menu (Esc) and navigate to the “Homestead” section, then click on the “Upgrade” button. You will need to spend some resources to upgrade your Homestead.

How to Properly Use Farmland

Approach the entrance of your Farmland and press “F” to interact. The farming interface will open.

To grow crops in Undawn, you need to 1) plant them, 2) water them, and 3) fertilize them.

So, first, go to the “Supplies Shop” section to purchase seeds and Organic Fertilizer. All crops have approximately the same maturation time. However, if you’re unsure which vegetables or fruits you should grow, carefully review the cooking guide in Undawn.

Now, in the farming interface, switch to the “Seeding” tab. On the left side of the interface, check the box next to the “Auto-Select Farmland” option, then click on the seeds to plant them on all available plots. Click “Seeding” to confirm the planting.

You can also plant seeds one by one, either through the Farmland Management interface or by interacting directly with the plot.

After planting, you need to water the seeds. Click on “Water” in the left part of the interface.

Finally, you should fertilize your crops to achieve a higher yield. Go to the “Fertilize” section, once again check the box next to the “Auto-Select Farmland” option, click on Organic Fertilizer, and press “Fertilize.”

Done! Your crops are planted. Now, in the Overview tab, you can see that the Hydration and Nutrition statuses are marked as “Perfect.” If you click on a specific plot, you will notice that all 5 apples in the “Yield” column are filled. This means you will get the maximum harvest. Now, all you have to do is wait for the crops to mature.

When that happens, simply click “Harvest,” and all the harvested crops will go into your inventory.

Remember, you don’t need to keep seeds and fertilizers in your inventory to engage in farming. You can store them in any storage container in your house, and they will still be accessible in the Farmland Management interface. This principle applies to all workstations installed at your base.

• Can I buy vegetables / fruits / food? You cannot buy food prepared through cooking or the farming ingredients from other players.
• What benefits do farming and cooking provide? Both food and the final perk of the Chef profession (Esc → Role) enhance the character’s attributes.
