Undawn Survival Squad Guide: Everything You Need to Know

Undawn

Survival Squad in Undawn is a group of 3-8 players that you can form for consistent gameplay with friends. Being part of a survival squad grants you access to new helpful features for quick team formation or summoning your buddies, as well as the opportunity to earn a new currency called Buddy Points. In this brief guide, I will share everything I’ve managed to uncover about survival squads.

How to Create a Survival Squad

The feature for creating a survival squad (as well as managing it later) is available in the same section as your contacts and in-game mail.

Click on the icon with people near the chat and go to the bottom tab labeled “Survival Squad.”

To create a survival squad, you must gather a group of 3 to 8 players and complete a simple quest together at the Redwood Outpost (can be started by the captain). One of the players will become the squad’s captain. All other members of the group must have a minimum of 100 Friendship Points (which you can check in the “Friends” section) with the captain, or they won’t be able to join the squad.

Remember that to earn Friendship Points with a player, they must be on your friends’ list. Friendship Points are awarded for participating in in-game activities together. You can also give Red Roses to your friend, which can be grown on your Farmland. It’s strongly advised not to invite random players to your squad.

Keep in mind that once the squad is created, you CANNOT invite new people to it. To add new players to the squad, you’ll have to disband it and create it again. The system is quite peculiar, but we haven’t discovered any other way so far.

Useful Functions of Survival Squad

  • All squad members gain access to a special “Buddy” chat, exclusive to the squad.

  • The squad captain can post announcements for squad members.
  • The “Quick Team” feature is available, which forms a team with one click by sending invitations to all your buddies.

  • The “Quick Summon” feature is available for instantly summoning your buddies.

Rewards for Cooperative Activities for Survival Squad Members

First and foremost, your survival squad has weekly quests (Survival SquadSquad Weeklies).

Undawn

These are simple tasks that involve completing daily quests together and participating in training matches.

There is a chain of rewards attached to squad weeklies:

  1. 10 Silicone Carbide Particles (Lv. 1), 500 Buddy Points
  2. 3000 Silver, 800 Buddy Points
  3. 5 Armor Plate Supply Crates, 1200 Buddy Points
  4. 500 Coupons, 1500 Buddy Points

Additionally, you will earn Buddy Points after each cooperative mission completed with other squad members. The weekly limit for earning Buddy Points is 10,000.

You can spend this currency in the EscMarketBuddy Shop section. The most valuable item available there is the Accessory Manual, which costs 30,000 Buddy Points. However, the squad must reach level 6 to purchase it. Note that since Accessory Manuals will be needed at any stage of the game, you can consider 1 Buddy Point as equivalent to 1 Gold. Due to this, I wouldn’t recommend buying anything else with Buddy Points as it is far less cost-effective.

Undawn

As you may have noticed, squad weeklies also contribute to the squad experience, increasing its level. What the squad level affects, apart from the items in the Buddy Shop, is currently unclear (possibly only the captain knows).

As of the writing of this guide, there is also a Squad Challenge available in the “Perks” section. It involves completing various in-game missions cooperatively and earning Squad Training Points, which unlock valuable rewards (as you can see, we’ve covered them all).

Undawn

There are all indications that similar Squad Challenges (or other events for squads) will occur regularly. That’s why you should join a survival squad as soon as possible. You’ll play with friends more often and progress faster in Undawn.

Conclusion (please read)

Since I’m not the captain of our squad, I can’t guarantee that this guide is comprehensive. From my side, I will try to learn as much as possible about survival squads in Undawn and update this post. If you have any valuable information, you can help the website and tens of thousands of its readers by sharing it in the comments.
