In Undawn, there’s no option to sell items to NPCs as you might be accustomed to in traditional MMORPGs. However, you can sell items to other players for Gold and recycle certain types of loot from the open world for Silver.
How to sell any item in Undawn for Gold
There’s an 8% commission on sales to other players.
- Go to the “Trade” section (Trading Post, which is the player-to-player trading section using Gold as currency).
- Navigate to the “Sale” tab. Here, you’ll see all the items from your inventory available for sale.
- Initially, you have 4 slots for selling items, but you can increase this to 8 with Gold.
- Click on the item, set the price, and click “List.”
You can also list items for sale directly from your inventory by clicking on them and selecting “Sell.” If this option isn’t available in the menu, the item isn’t eligible for sale.
When other players purchase your item, you can claim the earned Gold in the “Treasury” section. Click “Withdraw All” to transfer the Gold to your main account.
Some items, considered “normal” (like materials, purple Chip Modules, Accessory Manuals, and others), can be listed for sale instantly.
Items categorized as “rare” (equipment, weapons, ultimate Chip Modules, rare Genes, etc.) enter the market 2 hours after being listed for sale. During these 2 hours, the item will be visible in the “Announcement” tab.
Gold obtained from selling “normal” items can be withdrawn at any time. Gold from selling “rare” items will be unavailable for withdrawal for 24 real-time hours. You can check in the “Treasury” section when Gold from “Fund Review” will transfer to the “Funds Received” and become available for withdrawal.
Please note that the system keeps a record of your last 200 transactions over the past 20 days. In the dropdown list, you can filter only “Sale Records” or “Purchase Records” to manage unnecessary entries.
How to sell materials for Gold
All materials gathered in the open world (except those obtained in weather events) are considered raw. Once refined with the Raw Material Workbench, they become available for sale and crafting.
Selling Normal Materials, Advanced Materials, and Unfinished Goods is the primary source of Gold in Undawn for most players. However, you’ll earn and save more Gold if you use materials wisely for crafting.
Trading Post Selling Ban
Any item bought in the “Trade” section from other players becomes unavailable for resale for 15 days. The duration of the “Trading Post Selling Ban” is always indicated in the item description. After this period, the item can be listed for sale again.
Selling used weapons or armor
Any item equipped by a player, be it a weapon, armor, or skill chip, becomes bound to the character and is labeled “Non-tradable, personal use only.” Such items are marked with a turquoise icon in the inventory.
Personal weapons and armor can still be sold to other players. To do so, select the item in your inventory and click “Unlink” in the context menu.
Unlinking weapons / armor from a character requires a specific amount (around 12-15, in my case) of Corrosive Solvent, which can be purchased in the Store section for 188 RC per unit.
As of writing this guide, this function is relatively pointless, as such a large amount of RC can be converted into Gold more efficiently.
Selling used Skill Chips
Skill Chips (at least purple quality) cannot be unlinked using Corrosive Solvent. Instead, you can “Dismantle” a personal Skill Chip, receiving the exact number of Chip Modules needed for crafting.
The obtained Chip Modules will also be linked to the character.
However, if you click on them in the inventory and use the “Refine and Improve” option, you can exchange Chip Modules for Ferrosilicon of the corresponding rarity. For instance, 1 purple Chip Module equals 10 Epic Ferrosilicon.
You can then spend Ferrosilicon to purchase Chip Module Crates in the Esc → Market → Special Skill: Ferrosilicon section.
By opening Chip Module Crates, you’ll receive random Chip Modules of the same rarity, which won’t be bound to a character and can be sold to other players. This way, you can recover approximately 30-40% (approximately) of the Gold spent on the Skill Chip.
How to recycle items for Silver
Some items found in the open world (in various crates, abandoned suitcases, backpacks, etc.) can be recycled for Silver. Simply select such items in your inventory and click “Recycle.” If the option is not available in the list, it means you can’t recycle that item.
You can earn additional Silver daily by collecting such items in the open world (they replenish once a day). If you’d like a guide on finding these items (e.g., best locations), please let me know in the comments. Good luck! 😉
