Irrigation Hose (Mech Tool)

Press the left mouse button to shoot a stream of water or fertilizer (ammo is toggled with the “R” key).

The water supply is limited by the capacity of the tank. When the water in the tank runs out, you will have to refill it using the Vacuum Harvester in a nearby body of water.

Seed Shooter (Mech Tool)

As the name suggests, the tool shoots seeds. It is used to plant seeds in a Plot, which must first be built.

Lightyear Frontier

You will find various seeds in the open world, and you can switch between them with the “R” key.

Sprout Cannon (Mech Tool)

Similar to Seed Shooter, this tool is used to plant plants in the open world. For example, you can use it to plant a tree. Seeds are switched using the “R” key.

Pickaxe (Character Tool)

Using the left mouse button you can mine rocks (for example, stone). Using the right mouse button you can drag objects from one place to another. For example, you can transfer resources lying on the ground in this way.

How to upgrade tools

To upgrade tools you must build an Upgrade Depot. This will give you access to Mech Upgrades, which include tool upgrades.

Mech Depot

For the first upgrades you will need Aluminum Parts, which can be created using the Assembler from the Aluminum Rod. Aluminum Rod can be obtained in the first two regions you explore – The Meadows and Pine Heights.

Aluminum Parts

In the screenshot below you can see what the deposits look like.

As you progress through the game you will have to constantly improve your tools. This will require resources from new regions.
